I’m a designer by choice and trade. I’ve worked as a freelance designer for a long time now. I’m a mother, a wife (to my fellow doodle-head partner), an artist, and a teacher. Like my fellow doodle-head husband, I teach digital art and motion graphics at Macomb Community College. I am an awesome cook, and I find myself extremely funny...
I grew up in Michigan and have loved anything to do with art since my cousin Lori started showing me her sketchbooks when I was little. I started with still life and pretty much drew anything swirly or type-oriented as far back as I can remember. I started taking traditional and digital courses at Macomb, convinced my husband to take some courses with me (so he wouldn’t die in a fiery blaze, we didn’t have insurance then) and the rest is artistic history. I was working as a waitress and bartender at Outback Steakhouse until our daughter was born. I started looking for ways to still be artistic and get paid for it at home. That is when designing really started to kick in. I love creating how a company will imagine itself. Starting with their logo and building it into a brand.
Thanks (once again) to “Prof B” and my “Doodle-head husband” for giving me a chance to start teaching art classes in the same school where I started my designing career. It is a gratifying experience to teach the young minds of today and our future how to see things differently and how to use the tools they need to be successful in such a competitive digital arts industry. As for now, I’m still designing and teaching and loving every minute of it.. I like what I do and I hope you do too.
